How to delete your data

Uninstalling CodWatchdog from your Shopify admin is the deletion request. Nothing else is needed and you do not have to contact us.

• Shopify notifies us the moment you uninstall.
• Your shop record, WhatsApp connection and stored access token are removed, and the token is revoked with Meta so it cannot be used again.
• Your customers' phone numbers and names are erased from the order records.
• Shopify's own mandatory data-erasure requests (shop/redact and customers/redact) are honoured on the same path.

Order outcome records (which order was confirmed or cancelled, and when) are kept without any personal data attached, because deleting them would break the duplicate-message protection that stops a customer being messaged twice about the same order. They contain no name, no phone number and no address.

You do not have an account with CodWatchdog and never signed up for one. We hold your phone number only because the store you ordered from asked us to send you an order confirmation.

• To stop the messages immediately: reply STOP to the WhatsApp message. That is recorded straight away and you will never be messaged again about any order from that store.
• To have your data deleted: email support@codwatchdog.com from any address, with the phone number that received the message. You can also ask the store you ordered from; they can delete it on your behalf.

We action deletion requests within 30 days and normally within a few working days. You will get a reply confirming it is done. We do not require you to prove your identity beyond the phone number itself, because asking for identity documents to delete a phone number would collect more data than it erases.

• The phone number, and the customer name captured from the order.
• The record of consent tied to that number.
• The content of any message sent to or received from that number.

Message delivery records held by Meta on the WhatsApp Business Platform are governed by Meta’s own terms and are not ours to delete. The messages were sent from the merchant’s own WhatsApp Business number, so that account holds its own copy of the conversation.
